Doctors Insert Tooth In Eye To Restore Eyesight

Doctors in England restored the eyesight of a blind man by inserting his son's tooth into his eye. Bob McNichol, 57, was blinded two years ago at an aluminum explosion.

"I thought that I was going to be blind for the rest of my life," McNichol told RTE state radio, AFP reported.

EU Rules Germany Can't Call Cheese "Parmesan"

Germans who produced cheese were disappointed after the European Union's highest court ruled Tuesday that only the cheese made in Northern Italy can be officially called "Parmesan."

"Only cheeses bearing the protected designation of origin 'Parmigiano Reggiano' can be sold under the name 'Parmesan,'" said the European Court of Justice in a Luxembourg ruling.

Artist Mounts Great Balls Of Protest

An unconventional artist who became notorious for turning the Trevi Fountain in Rome into a surreal pool of blood two weeks ago, mounted another protest action, this time using more than a million multi-colored plastic balls which he released from the top of Rome's famous Spanish Steps.

"This was an artistic gesture to demonstrate the problems we have in Italy and to do so, I used art," Graziano Cecchini said of his latest stunt. "Both the Left and the Right are telling us so many lies and I and the Italians have had enough. They have broken our balls and hence this live art display."

The truffle, weighing 1.5 kilograms, is now considered the world's biggest besting the 1.29-kg truffle found in Croatia in 1999, which holds the Guinness World Record.
