Free Laptops By American NGO Used To Surf Porn In Nigerian Schools
The American NGO, which distributed free laptops to the Nigerian school children under One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) surely did not expect that their donation would be used for the surfing of pornographic sites. State run media in Nigeria reports that the children in various schools, who have such laptops and Internet, are using these free laptops to browse porn sites over the Internet.
Man Takes Armored Vehicle On Wild Ride Through Sydney Suburb
Police arrested a 45-year-old man after a 90-minute rampage through Sydney's western suburbs in an Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) on Saturday. Police cars followed the APC as it destroyed six mobile phone towers and damaged an electricity sub-station. Police were finally able to arrest the man after the APC stalled, as it was heading towards another electricity sub-station.
Two Women Dissolve Friendship Over A Cow
Two elderly women who are the only living souls in the remote Serbian village of Grade have become famous for not speaking to each other and insulting one another in a local newspaper. In a report by ananova.com, the two women were identified as Ruzica Markovic and Ljubica Paunovic, both from the Grade, the smallest village in Serbia. It was said the two women had a falling out three years ago when one of them insulted the other's cow.
Local British Council Bans Office Christmas Decorations
The local council at Tower Hamlets in East London, England has ordered its staff not to put up Christmas decorations in the office to prevent injury. The council also bans the use of festive lights because they are too costly on electric bills, it was reported.
Dog Cuts Off Power In The English County of Durham
A dog which accidentally tripped a live power cable, caused some 148 homes in Middlestone Moor, County Durham in England to lose electricity for five hours. It was said that when Bailey, a Straffordshire bull terrier, urinated against a faulty pylon, "There was an almighty explosion and the whole street lit up. I turned round and the dog was on fire," reported his owner, Gary Davies.
