The mayor of Wadowice, Poland has told believers who were flocking his town to drink at a "miracle fountain" from a statue of Pope John Paul II, that the water is coming from just an ordinary water pipe.

The daily newspaper Dziennik says local residents in Pope John Paul II's hometown of Wadowice, have been flocking to the statue, believing a miracle had happened when water began sprouting from the base of the statue.

According to Reuters, sexy ads like that of a woman's nude backside and thigh on a huge poster were wrapped, when a Roman Catholic group denounced them as offensive to the Pope's trip. Even newspapers held off on publishing their usual photos of topless beauty queens, which always appear on the back pages of many Polish tabloids.

Catholic Church Investigates Polish Spies

The Catholic Church in Poland is investigating church collaborators who assisted the communist-era secret police.

Church officials will work with historians to review secret police files which are now declassified, to find evidence of collaboration.
