Man Calls Police After Finding His Apartment Renovated
Apparently not everyone appreciates the surprise of seeing their homes fully refurbished and redecorated with someone else's creative eye rather than their own. A German man was distraught to come home to his apartment after a weekend getaway to find his fridge replaced, walls repainted, windows cleaned, and new furniture installed.
30,000-Year-Old Dining Table Up For Sale
A wooden dining table which experts have authenticated to have been made of wood dating back to the time of cavemen, is up for sale in London, England for over $13,000. The table comes with a certificate of authenticity that it had been made from a 30,000-year-old wood from a Kauri tree. The wood has been carbon-dated to determine its age, it was said.
Dutch Carpenter's Erotic Furniture On Display In Germany
Dutch cabinet maker Mario Phippona's latest design of erotic furniture are on display at a top German art gallery, Amadeus Art in Berlin. The designs offer a wide range of wooden cupboards, wardrobes and tables inspired by the female anatomy. One of the items on display is a fruit bowl called "TittyFuity," which is decorated with realistically shaped, life-size wooden breasts.
Architect Creates Floating Bed
A Dutch architect has made a bed that hovers in the air through magnetic force. The bed, which was inspired by the mysterious monolith in Stanley Kubrick's 1968 cult film "2001: A Space Odyssey," can also function as a dining table. The architect, Janjaap Ruijssenaars, said the bed is pushed into the air by repelling magnetic forces built into the floor and into the bed itself. Steel cables keep the bed in place.
Marijuana Bust The Result Of House Fire
According to officials, about 300 pot plants were discovered when firefighters were responding to calls that smoke was coming out of the house. Orange County fire captain Stephen Miller stated the smoke was coming from the garage wall, where someone had illegally tapped into a power source.
