Suicide Of Ex-Argentine Police Chief Shown On TV
Sixty-three year-old Mario Ferreyra, former commander of the Argentina police gave an interview to a television crew, and with the camera still rolling, pulled out a gun from his boot and shot himself. Ferreyra, also known as "El Malevo," was accused of being involved in the kidnapping and torture of dissidents during the 1973-83 dictatorship in Argentina, also known as the "The Dirty War," that has left thousands disappeared.
School Expels Student For Bringing Pistol To Class, Police Files Charge
An 8-year-old Florida third grader who brought a loaded handgun to his school and showed it to a classmate on Friday has been charged by police and suspended by the school. Aside from charging the unnamed student of Walker Elementary School with illegally bringing a deadly weapon to school, Fort Lauderdale police plans to charge the owner of the 9mm pistol with improper storage of a firearm. Meanwhile, school district spokeswoman Nadine Drew said the boy will be expelled, according to the Miami Herald.
Florida Police Officer Fired For Firing Taser On Boy For Fun
The Eustis Police Department has fired one of its officers who tasered a teenager for fun during a birthday party he hosted last month. Dan Nesmith, 22, lost his job after a video of him demonstrating his taser on the back of 15-year-old Taylor Davis surfaced and a subsequent check of the officer's taser gun showed it was fired on the day of the party. The taser gun is equipped with memory that indicates the date when it was fired.
Carjackers Hangs Florida Woman's Baby Outside Window During Theft
A Central Florida woman who was carjacked at gunpoint is still getting over the experience that included the gunman dangling her 10-month-old daughter upside down by her feet outside the vehicle window. The carjacking happened Friday shortly before noon when a gunman ambushed Alyssa Gould in her SUV at an intersection. The carjacker opened the driver's side door and put a gun in her face, then unbuckled her baby and dangled the infant by her feet.
