American Military Couples Log High Divorce Rate
Stress of being separated by two ongoing wars the United States is participating in has taken its toll on military marriages which hit a 16-year high divorce rate. According to Pentagon, the divorce rate rose to 3.5 percent among the 287,000 married American soldiers, up from 3.3 percent recorded the previous fiscal year which ends Sept. 30. At that rate, it means there were 10,200 divorced couples in active Army duty and 3,077 among Marines.
Michigan Man Run Over By Own Car Trying To Save Wife, Unborn Child In Freak Accident Outside Library
A Farmington Hills, MI man was killed while saving his pregnant wife and unborn child during a freak accident outside the library. Hong Kong native David Shu-Kin Kwok was run over by the couple's mini van after getting out to assist his pregnant wife who had fallen while trying to get into the vehicle. In his rush, Kwok forgot to put the parking brake on and the vehicle and both he and his wife, Erika Kwok, were struck by the vehicle.
Two Men Shoot, Kill Each Other At California Toys "R" Us Store On Black Friday
Two men shot and killed each other at a crowded Toys "R" Us store in Palm Desert, Calif., adding to the nationwide violence that marred the busiest shopping day of the year, known as "Black Friday." Alejandro Moreno, 39, of Desert Hot Springs, and Juan Meza, 28, of Cathedral City, were found dead at around 11:30 a.m. outside the store.
French Appeals Court Reverses Annulment Of Man's Marriage To Non-Virgin Wife
A Muslim couple is protesting the controversial decision of a French appeals court on Monday that reinstates their marriage, which was annulled in April because the wife was not a virgin. The unnamed couple, who married in 2006, had mutually agreed to the annulment of their marriage after the husband learned she was no longer a virgin as she had claimed and she admitted having pre-marital sex.
Study: 33 Percent Of Japanese Couples Forego Intimate Relations
A study by the Japanese Family Planning Association has alarming findings for the country's population count. The report said one-third of Japanese couples had given up sex. Their reasons for lack of intimacy were due to fatigue caused by work or they found sex already boring. What caught the attention of Dr. Kunio Kitamura, the head of the association, was that the number of couples in that same situation is going up over the years.
