Greetings Cards By The Late Princess Diana Sold For $3,800 At Auction

Greetings cards written by Britain's late Princess Diana have sold for $3,800. The two cards - which belonged to former royal chef Mervyn Wycherley who worked for the royal family for 23 years - were expecting to fetch around $1,500 but a bidding war broke out when they went on sale at auction house Reeman Dansie in Colchester, Essex on Monday.

Auctioneer James Grinter said: "It's a very buoyant market, it has not been affected at all by the credit crunch. People would rather invest their money into something they can keep in their home and enjoy and which will hopefully rise in value."

Florida Police Officer Fired For Firing Taser On Boy For Fun

The Eustis Police Department has fired one of its officers who tasered a teenager for fun during a birthday party he hosted last month.

Dan Nesmith, 22, lost his job after a video of him demonstrating his taser on the back of 15-year-old Taylor Davis surfaced and a subsequent check of the officer's taser gun showed it was fired on the day of the party. The taser gun is equipped with memory that indicates the date when it was fired.

Noisy German Birthday Celebrants Mistake Cops For Male Strippers

German police responding to a complaint about a noisy party after midnight knocked on the door only to have the noisy guests burst into applause after opening the door and seeing the officers there.

Applauding the police were the birthday girl, who had just turned 30, and her female guests who, it turned out, had all mistakenly thought the police officers were a surprise birthday gift - male strippers in costume.
