Tribal Court Fines Man A Buffalo And A Pig For Bigamy Offence

A Malaysian man has been fined a buffalo and a pig for not complying with a tribal custom by secretly marrying a second wife. The court called on the 39-year-old man to compensate his wife and children with both animals after agreeing to dissolve the second union.

Kota Kinabalu, Native Court chief William Majimbun, told the AP, "Indigenous custom doesn't normally punish men who marry a second time, but in this case, he did not get the permission of the first wife." He noted that, "The case was handled based on customary laws."

Hundreds of Russians gathered for the first day of the annual ''Pig Olympics." The crowd cheered a field of 12 piglets who competed in three events: pig-racing, pig-ball and pig-swimming.

Organizers of the event and the vice-president of the Sport-Pig Federation, which claims around 100 members, Alexei Sharshkov, said the Pig Olympics were organized to deliver a different kind of entertainment to people.

The new trend is spreading the sport around the country. There is even a training facility at the Sport Pig Centre in Moscow, where the little porkers can hone their skills in running, swimming, and 'pig-ball competitions'.

Professor Resigns After Showing Explicit Sex Video

A Grand Rapids Community College criminal justice professor, known for his unique teaching style, has resigned after showing a video in class of a man having sex with a pig, according to students and a faculty representative.

A school administrator confirmed that Samuel Naves resigned Feb. 17th, but would not comment on why he left.However, students and a faculty leader said the resignation had to do with the video. They said Naves was teaching an introductory criminal justice class earlier this year when he was going through video files on his computer.The video appeared on a projection screen and students begged Naves to show the 10-second footage, according to the accounts.Faculty association president Fred vanHartesveldt told the Associated Press the incident occurred this year. He said Naves was known for a blunt teaching style.

Protests Surround Pig Castration In Front Of Students

A teacher who castrated a live pig in front of her high school class is now on the list of animal rights activists throughout the country.

Protests began after People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals published accounts of the incident at Rosamond High School on its Web site last month.
