Family Of 6 Dead In California Murder-Suicide

Los Angeles police found Monday six bodies of a family, victims of an apparent murder-suicide, at a home in San Fernando Valley's Porter Ranch district.

Three letters police found at the family's two-story house in the 20600 block of Como Lane indicate that the gunman was 45-year-old financial advisor Karthik Rajaram. He cited financial problems as the reason for killing his family and himself.

Three Dead After Shoot Out In San Francisco Hair Salon

Three people including one police officer are dead after a fatal shoot-out at Martinez hair salon Saturday in the San Francisco Bay area.

According to The Mercury News, the estranged husband of the salon owner, Felix Sandoval, came to the salon angry, shattered the front window of the shop and entered the unlocked door waving a gun. The salon had several customers at the time, including a wedding party. Most of the customers ran out a back door.

Elderly "Victim" Forces Teen Burglar To Call Police

A 17-year-old suspected robber learned some manners and to respect the elderly when his 85-year-old victim forced him, at gunpoint, to call the police and admit his wrongdoings.

Leda Smith from Springhill Township, about 45 miles south of Pittsburgh, courageously walked past a 17-year-old burglar who forced his way inside her house Sunday afternoon. Smith entered her bedroom and grabbed a .22 caliber gun she kept under her bed.

FBI Exhibits Unabomber's Cabin, Kaczynski Complains To US Court of Appeals

Convicted "Unabomber" Ted Kaczynski has written a letter complaining to a three-judge U.S. Court of Appeals panel about the display of his 10-by-12-foot cabin as a central artifact in an exhibition at the Newseum marking the FBI centennial.

The Smoking Gun article, "Kaczynski Angered By Predatory Home Loan: Unabomber raps feds for allowing cabin's display at D.C. museum," includes a three-page, handwritten letter from Kaczynski, dated July 15, that relates how Kaczynski learned about the display when he received a "full-page, full-color advertisement that features my cabin, which is being displayed publicly at something called a 'Newseum.'"

Alleged Armed Robber Locks Keys In Get-Away Car

A Texas drugstore cowboy's efforts were thwarted Thursday after he robbed a pharmacy only to find he'd locked his keys in the get-away car.

According to reports, John Wilkinson, 24, robbed the Stanton Drug Store with a caulking gun covered in a towel. He stole Xanax and Hydrocodine before leaving the store to discover his blunder. Then, he fled on foot.
