Woman Jumps To Death From Tokyo Department Store, Knocks Bystander Unconscious

A woman died after jumping from the rooftop of a department store in Tokyo. A passer-by was knocked unconscious after breaking the woman's fall, authorities said Tuesday.

Local Police Spokesman Tetsuhiko Kanehara said they responded immediately to the scene after phone-calls from other passers-by, finding the man and woman collapsed and bleeding on the street infront of the Ikebukuro Parco Department Store in Tokyo's Toshima-ku at around 1 p.m. on Tuesday.

Two Women Mix Deadly Gas In Latest Of Japan's Suicide Pacts

Two women in their early 20s were found dead inside a car after they apparently gassed themselves in Japan's latest suicide pact, police said Thursday.

Investigators discovered two empty bottles that contained a bathwater additive and detergent, leading them to suspect that the two mixed the two liquids to generate toxic hydrogen sulfide gas.

The two elementary school classmates were identified as 21- and 22-year-old women from Namegawa, Saitama Prefecture.

Chinese Teen's Stunt To Dodge Rushing Train Fails As Driver Hits Brakes

A Chinese teenager, who said he wanted to test his quickness in dodging a rushing train while sitting on railway tracks, failed in his stunt on Friday. The incident happened at a railway in Fengxian District in Shanghai, China.

The alert train driver stepped on the brakes and managed to stop before the locomotive could hit the fearless teen, according to the Shanghai Daily.

Vodka Drip Keeps Seriously Ill Man Alive

A 24-year-old Italian who tried to commit suicide by swallowing a large amount of poison is being kept alive in Australia by being fed vodka through a drip. Doctors in Queensland said they set up the drip after running out of medicinal alcohol which is used as an antidote to the poison.

"The patient was drip-fed about three standard drinks an hour for three days in the intensive care unit," Dr. Todd Fraser said. "Fortunately for him he was in a medically induced coma for a good portion of that."

Australian Doctors Save Italian Tourist's Life By Giving Him A Vodka Drip

Doctors in Australia revealed Wednesday they saved an Italian tourist's life by drip-feeding him steady doses of vodka over three days. The patient was given three standard drinks an hour over the period while he was in intensive care unit.

The 24-year old unidentified man was brought to Mackay Base Hospital in north Queensland two months ago after a failed suicide attempt. He had swallowed huge quantities of ethylene glycol, a poison commonly found in anti-freeze.
