When David Voight, a Neenah city sanitation worker, found $1,900 in an envelope while combing through a city scrap heap, he honestly handed over the cash to police. At that time, Voight was told that he had to wait 90 days for the owner to come forward, in absence of which he would get the money. However, city officials are now disputing whether the money is Voight's.
"It's been very hard on me for being honest and then being told that because you're honest we're going to pat you on the back and take your money," David Voight told the AP in a telephone interview Sunday night.
