A sex offender in South Carolina had his kidnapping all planned out. He booby-trapped his bunker that was nestled underground where no one would find them.

What Vincent Filyaw, 37, didn't count on was his victim getting a hold of his cell phone and texting her location to her mother.

Man Tried Attacking Officer With Tomahawk

A Deposit Police Chief said a man's life was saved by a Taser gun after he tried to attack an officer with a Tomahawk.

Police Chief Timothy Roberts told the AP, "Somebody's life was saved because of the Taser and it was probably the defendant's."

Offended Chinese Officials Cut Power To Hotel Party

A hotel opening party was left in the dark after two offended Chinese officials cut power to the building.

The officials were upset they were not invited to the festivities and forced hotel managers to drink alcohol before they would turn the electricity back on.

The Beijing Times reports the two officials were fired after the incident. They told two female managers that for every bottle of "baiju" (grain based alcohol) they drank, an hour of darkness would be cut.

Fried Pigeon Causes Denmark's Train Network To Stop

A pigeon that landed on a high-tension electricity wire resulted in a short-circuit that stopped Denmark's train network from functioning.

The bird is presumed to have been fried on the overhead cables ensuing the outage in the train's main line after.

Indian State Set To Make Power From Bamboo

A north eastern Indian state, Mizoram, set to make an environment-friendly power station that will run on bamboo. The state, it is claimed, possibly will be the first in the world to use bamboo for producing power.

The project coordinator, Mr. Tlumtea told United News of India, "Our unique power station will use bamboo to generate electricity. This project will not only be cost-effective but also high eco-friendly."
