Prince Charles' Food Company To Release A Range Of Herbal Remedies

Britain's Prince Charles' food firm is launching a range of herbal remedies. The 60-year-old prince watched as the first batch of the new Duchy Originals herbal goods - which will be available in the new year - was made as he toured the factory and laboratories of the healthcare company who are producing the products.

Duchy Original's chief executive officer Andrew Baker said: "Duchy Original's decision to launch a range of herbal tinctures reflects the prince's passion for adopting an integrated approach to healthcare."

U.K. Announces Ban On All Cigarette Displays By 2013

Following a public consultation which yielded 96,000 responses, U.K. Health Secretary Alan Johnson announced Monday the total banning of cigarette displays in shops beginning 2013. From October 2011, large shops could no longer display cigarette products, while the ban takes effect in smaller shops after two years.

More strict age restriction on sales will be imposed for tobacco sale through vending machines. But earlier proposals to make it illegal to retail cigarette sticks in packs of 10 and to have plain packaging for cigarettes were rejected.

Prince Charles Criticizes Poor English Grammar In The U.K.

Britain's Prince Charles has criticized the poor standards of English grammar in the United Kingdom. The prince - who was speaking at the Georgian Group awards in London's The Ritz hotel Wednesday - insisted people need to concentrate on using apostrophes properly and constructing sentences correctly.

He said: "It seems to me that you need to remind people every now and then that you can't communicate to people in a language unless you know the grammar and the syntax and, indeed, the punctuation."

U.K. To Make Paid Sex With A Trafficked Woman A Crime

The British government will publish Wednesday a proposal that would impose stiff penalties on customers of women forced into prostitution. Among the sanctions eyed is a charge of rape, which has a potential life sentence for males caught having paid sex with women who were trafficked or handled by a pimp.

The measure seeks to curb prostitution in the United Kingdom. According to the Metropolitan police, 70 percent of 88,000 women prostitutes in England and Wales are under the control of traffickers.
