"Porn Inspector" Impersonates Police; Three Requests For Free Videos Turned Down

Police in Longmont, Colorado are looking for a man who claimed to be a police detective in an effort to obtain free adult videos from a novelty shop.

The store manager told police that an unidentified man came into the shop at least three times to demand free copies of X-rated videos. He said he wanted the videos to determine if performers were not underage and not violating any laws.

Couple Plotted To Fake Husband's Death Sentenced To Six Years Each In Prison

An English couple who schemed to fake the husband's death in order to collect the insurance money has been sentenced to more than six years each in prison.

The plot of the deceitful couple began to unravel in December 2007, five years after John Darwin and his wife conspired to fake his death in a canoeing accident, when John, 57, walked into a London police headquarters saying he had amnesia.

Two Russian Mine Guards Eaten By Pack Of Starving Bears

Two guards were eaten by a pack of hungry Kamchatka bears in Russia's far eastern region last Thursday.

Since then, the Associated Press reported that a pack of 30 bears are stalking two mines of a platinum mining company, causing 400 mine workers to refuse to go to work on the small island where Kamchatka brown bears live in the densest abundance of anywhere in the world.

Kickball Grows In Seattle As New Teams Play This Summer

More than 50 couples from countries around Europe are registered for Saturday's 16th annual Wife Carrying World Championships. The rules are simple, even if the contest isn't necessarily easy. The wife-even a borrowed one- is carried by the man-piggyback, on his shoulders, or however he can manage-around a quarter-kilometer (.15 miles) course made up of sand, asphalt and grass over logs and through three feet of water.
