The New York Yankees are apologizing to fans. The team apologized to its fans saying it wasn't their fault Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez, Johnny Damon and Bernie Williams had departed for the World Baseball Classic. In a sign posted near Customer Service, the team writes "Thank you for expressing your concerns. We are sorry that certain players will not be present for portions of spring training. These players have elected to participate in the World Baseball Classic.

The Florida Marlins have cut the fat from their payroll and are planning on trimming the facial hair of players next. The team's new manager Joe Girardi wants his players to be clean shaven meaning no goatees, mustaches or beards when players begin reporting for spring training on Feb. 18.
