Seniors are going back to work in order to pay taxes. In Boulder County, Colo. , a tax work-off program that started in 1986 for residents over 60 now has about 250 applicants for fewer than 100 openings. The seniors do landscaping, gather climate data, clip newspapers and staff the courthouse information booths to make extra money to pay their taxes. Many stay as volunteers after paying off their taxes.

According to the Beer Institute the state of Colorado officially became the largest beer producing state in the country. The Colorado brewing industry produced over 23. 3 million barrels or 724. 5 million gallons of beer. This makes the state tops in production, edging out second place California and other large states such as Texas and New York. A recent study commissioned by the Beer Institute and the National Beer Wholesalers Association (NBWA) also found that the beer industry, made up of brewers, beer importers, beer distributors, brewer suppliers, and retailers, directly and indirectly contributes $12. 4 billion annually to Colorado's economy. The industry's economic impact includes 67,918 jobs - paying $3 billion in wages - as well as $1. 6 billion in federal, state, and local taxes.

Sex workers in Hungary now become significant contributors to the country's legal economy as officials said Monday it would allow prostitutes to apply for a working permit. The effort, which allows prostitutes to issue receipts to their customers and make social security contributions, in turn allows the approximately 20,000 prostitutes to generate for the Hungarian government as much as an estimated $1 billion annual revenue.

Dutch students have reportedly developed powdered alcohol which they say can be sold legally to minors. Known as Booz2Go, the alcohol-powder is available in 20-gramme packets that cost 1-1. 5 euros ($1. 35-$2 USD). When water is added to the powder, a lime-colored and -flavored sparkly drink is made which has just 3 percent alcohol content. The makers of the drink say they are targeting the youth market and the new drink is quite similar to Bacardi.

An Iowa man was on cloud nine when he discovered that he's the "idiot" who hasn't claimed an $800,000 Powerball lottery prize. According to Iowa Lottery staffers, Ed O'Neill of Clinton had purchased the ticket for a Jan. 6 Powerball drawing but didn't think it necessary to check the results until a co-worker pointed out an article in the local newspaper which mentioned of a person who had failed to claim a hefty Powerball lottery prize. O'Neill, 58, who works for the Clinton Chamber of Commerce, said he was talking to a receptionist at the Chamber who cursorily showed him an article saying, "'Read this article about the idiot that hasn't claimed his ticket. '"
