The American NGO, which distributed free laptops to the Nigerian school children under One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) surely did not expect that their donation would be used for the surfing of pornographic sites. State run media in Nigeria reports that the children in various schools, who have such laptops and Internet, are using these free laptops to browse porn sites over the Internet.

In a bid to give a hard fight to obesity and other related problems at the school level, authorities in China have come up with a new resolution which will mandate dance classes to all students in primary and secondary schools. Under the program, experts with the Ministry of Education have designed seven sets of group dances, with each dance lasting 4-5 minutes. The dances will be incorporated in class breaks, or in extra-curricular activities, the China Daily reports.

A 10-day suspension was not enough to teach a Grand Rapids, Michigan school boy a lesson. Travis Griffin needed more punishment, according to his mother, Veronica. While horsing around at school, Griffin put his teacher in a headlock. The 15-year-old was promptly suspended but to make sure he never did it again, his mother made him wear a sign on his back and pick up trash along five miles of roadway, according to Associated Press reports.

A man who took photos of children and female staff members in a school bathroom has been jailed for four months. Adrian Alan Mayne worked as a maintenance worker at a Tasmanian school and drilled holes in the walls of the bathroom. He then used a camera owned by the school to take pictures of girls' breasts and other private parts.

An Oregon mother looking for a jacket on the online auction site, eBay, found one that looked exactly like the one her daughter lost at school. Why? It was the same jacket. In January, the mother of a third grade student in Hillsboro, Oregon visited her daughter's school more than once to try and find a missing Columbia Sportswear jacket.
