A teenager was arrested Tuesday for allegedly lacing cookies and candy with LSD and marijuana before delivering the treats to police officers.
Christian Phillips, 18, delivered baskets of cookies and candy to about a dozen police stations in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, saying he was bringing the sweets on behalf of Mothers Against Drunk Driving, who he was doing mandatory community service for.
According to the Associated Press, three officers got sick, and others said they smelled marijuana in the cookies and had them sent to a lab for testing. Preliminary tests are showing traces of LSD and marijuana.
Phillips was taken into custody upon delivering a basket to the Lake Worth Police Department after they were tipped off by the Blue Mound Police Department, who received a phone call from MADD saying they didn't send anyone out to deliver cookies. He is charged with possession of LSD, but the charge could change, depending on test results.
Phillips denies adding any illegal substances to the cookies, but said a friend may have been smoking marijuana while he was baking them.
