According to a report by the Sun-Sentinel, a 17-year-old teenage boy was arrested for the alleged theft of vehicle burglaries in Broward County, Florida, as undercover detectives saw him driving around a gas station that had already reported 10 vehicle burglaries over the last few days.

The police found several identification cards of other individuals, jewelry and a couple of PDAs in the car that the teenager was driving, which was also reported as stolen.

The Broward County Sheriff's Office believes that the teenager is involved as a member of an identity theft ring that they have been investigating for the last year.

While the drivers were pumping their gas, the thieves were stealing items from their vehicles. The numerous thefts at this particular gas station had alerted police to watch the area more closely when they saw this boy driving around and became suspicious.

The teenager gave another man's name when asked his by police. The man's name he gave was another suspect in this particular identity theft ring that the detectives have been investigating, which leads them to believe that the boy is also involved.

According to a spokesman for the sheriff's office, Elliot Cohen, the teenager is considered to be a "street soldier" who steals the IDs and then passes them on to others in the ring for fraudulent uses.
