A Gwinnett County teen died after completing two-hours of football conditioning workout Monday night, autopsy showed the player had an enlarged heart. The 13-year-old player identified as Jacheem Xavier was working out with teammates on his Gwinnett Youth Football League team at Shiloh High School Monday night prior to the incident. Xavier lost consciousness following a two-hour workout that started about 7 p.m. According to Ted Bailey, Chief Forensic Investigator for the Gwinnett County Medical Examiner's Office, Xavier showed symptoms of having an heart attack. An autopsy revealed that Xavier had an enlarged heart, but it will take 12 weeks to confirm the results. |
