A 16-year-old girl who flew to the Middle East to see a man she met on MySpace. com was detained in Jordan and is now heading home, according to an FBI spokesman. AP reports U. S. officials persuaded Katherine Lester to take the return flight from Amman, FBI Special Agent Robert Beeckman said from the agency's Detroit office.

A thief dressed in a woman's wig and makeup snatched a 71-year-old grandmother's purse in a Titusville mall, police said. According to a report by the Associated Press, Dotty Stella, was celebrating her birthday at a restaurant when she was robbed Monday.

Police have caught a teen who as robbed a series of sunglasses stores, taking over $2,000 in one recent theft. Police say Jevaughn Scott, 18, stole 173 pairs of sunglasses from Kool Shades, then lead officers on a downtown chase at 4 in the morning.

Teen girls swarm Cannes in hopes of being discovered by a director or an agent. Reuters reports, "I want to be part of the jet set crowd. I want to be a VIP," said 15-year-old Claudia Sorrentino, wearing a miniskirt and skinny top as she scanned Cannes' main Croisette boulevard for famous actors and producers.
