A secretary of state's office in the Chicago area is closed for repairs after a teenager prepping to take a driver's test accidentally drives a Chrysler into the building. Police say the 16-year-old girl was trying to park the car when she accidentally stepped on the accelerator instead of the brake, ramming the 1997 Chrysler Sebring into the building. Dave Drucker, a spokesman for the secretary of state's office, says the car drove through the building's exterior, breaking two glass windows.

A cellphone call to 911 leads police to an 18-year-old victim too late. Sunrise, Florida police officers arrived at the caller's apartment building just after midnight on Monday, only to find she had already been killed.

A judge overturned the expulsion a 14-year-old dismissed by the Pittsburgh school district in May for writing violent, profane rap lyrics. The court says the songs weren't "true threats" against the school, and therefore were protected by the First Amendment.

The son of Annette and Jeff Carter, former President Jimmy Carter's youngest son, has been placed under house arrest after a plea agreement reached Friday in Fayette County Superior Court. Jeremy Carter, 18, of Peachtree City was arrested in December of 2004 after being discovered in the home of a former friend with marijuana and alcohol.
