A teenager who refuses to wear a school uniform is charging that school officials violated her civil rights. Duan'ne Land claims that she has been harassed, humiliated and even "battered" by staff at Horace Mann Middle School despite a Los Angeles Unified School District policy that allows students to opt out of wearing a uniform, according to Reuters.

Two teenage girls are being held in juvenile detention after they faked their own kidnappings. They go before a judge Tuesday. According to investigators, 15-year-old Shena Armond and 16-year-old Charlene Charles called their mothers to say they had been kidnapped and taken to West Palm Beach.

Much like dog whistles, a new invention can only be heard by children and teenagers, says its Welsh creator. The device, called the "Mosquito", is designed to drive rowdy teens away by emitting a high-pitched ultrasonic sound that cannot be hear by most people over 30.

A quick decision cost a 16 year old boy his life after he decided to try to climb out of a high-rise apartment with bed sheets to avoid getting caught by a female friend's parents. The boy fell to his death from a 15th-floor apartment Saturday night.

A 15-year-old boy is ruled delinquent for skipping school to marry a 37-year-old woman who is pregnant with his child. Georgia Juvenile Court Judge Mary Carden also prohibits the teenager from contact with the woman he married. Carden has ordered the teen's probation from a previous burglary sentence be continued as long as he lives under the care of another relative - but not his grandmother, Judy Hayles, his former guardian.
