A 1920 work by artist Pablo Picasso, entitled Guitar and Score on a Pedestal Table, has been sold on Friday for 4. 5-million kronor (US$560,000), according to reports from the auction house, Stockholm's Auktionsverk. The original price has multiplied 2. 5 times because two telephone bidders have battled it out for the painting.

A Sri Lanka stewardess really wanted the day off on Friday so she decided to phone in a bomb threat from her boyfriend's cell phone to the airlines for which she "was" employed. "The inquiry reveals that the stewardess had given the false alarm because she did not want to fly that day," says Colombo's Sunday Times weekly.

No shirt, no shoes - and no pants - has landed a Utah man in jail. His legal trouble began last month when the 51-year-old Sunset man allegedly entered a local convenience store in the buff on multiple occasions. Police say in August he also made a trip through a restaurant drive-thru wearing nothing. City prosecutors have charged the man in justice court with misdemeanor lewdness. But now his problems are escalating. The Davis County District Attorney's office is investigating allegations of witness tampering, which could result in third-degree felony charges.
