The Lakes' Escape Line features a reading of Wordsworth's poem Daffodils, the sound of water lapping at Windermere and sizzling Cumberland sausages.

There is a new sheriff in town and his name is Andy Griffith. The Wisconsin man formerly known as William Frederick is running for sheriff of the state's Grant County, under his new name, Andy Griffith. He told reporters that he hoped the name change would draw attention to the otherwise neglected election of county sheriff. "Nobody knows who's running or what the issues are, if there are any issues or how the people differ," Griffith said, expecting the reference to Mayberry's finest to turn heads.

83-Year-Old Retiree Woman Charged With Drug Smuggling At Border

U. S. border agents arrested an 83-year-old U. S. citizen on Thursday as she entered California across the Mexican border on drug charges. Officials report that she is being held for suspicion of smuggling 10 pounds of methamphetamine found strapped to her body. The woman, a retiree, along with two Mexican nationals were stopped in their car at a U. S. border crossing in San Ysidro, California, just north of Tijuana, Mexico.

The rare item - produced between 1642 and 1644 by the king's Dutch designer Abraham Van Der Dort and worth $4 when it was minted - has become the most expensive item of legal tender ever sold in Britain.
