Three Mexican shark fishermen claim that they survived more than nine months at sea in a small boat by eating raw fish and drinking rain water as they drifted thousands of miles across the Pacific Ocean. The fishermen said they left their home town of San Blas on Mexico's Pacific coast last October to fish for sharks. But due to some mechanical problems at the boat and adverse winds they were blown towards the sea.

A Japanese man makes 37,760 silent calls to directory information so he could hear the "kind" voices of female operators. Police arrested the 44-year-old this week for obstructing the operations of Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corp. by making 905 calls per day. He admits to the daily Mainichi Shimbun, "When I made a complaint call once, the operator dealt with it very kindly, so I wanted to hear these women's voices. "

Shmaltz Brewing Co,. the California beer makers responsible for He'brew, Miraculous Jubilation and Genesis Ale, have honored the controversial comedian Lenny Bruce by releasing a beer on the 40th anniversary of his death. Bittersweet Lenny's RIPA is now available in more than 1,000 stores in 25 states. Bruce died at the age of 40 on August 3, 1966.

An Atlanta software company is suing a former salesman who falsely claimed his 3-year-old son had cancer, and collected benefits for months. Lancope Inc. tried to send flowers after being told Michael Ruffalo's son had died. The salesman said his son had cancer shortly after he was hired as a salesman, and was given paid leave. A judge turned down a defense request to dismiss the suit, which seeks $40,151 in salary plus unspecified punitive damages.

London, UK (AHN)-A British court awards compensation to a woman who claimed her bullying mother-in-law made her life miserable. Nottingham County Court ruled Dalbir Kaur Bhakar should pay off $65,000 to her daughter-in-law, Gina Satvir Singh.
