A man who used his computer to print fake $100 dollar bills to have lap dance services at a strip club in Tennessee was arrested and pleaded guilty to counterfeiting charges, authorities said.
Suspicious strippers at Deja Vu in Nashville called police after Damon Armagost paid $600 in fake money for services on April 16, federal authorities said.
During the investigation, Armagost told officers that he got the money when he sold $1,400 worth of gold coins to an unidentified person.
According to U.S. Secret Service agents who raided Armagost's house about 20 miles southeast of Nashville, one family member told them that an image of a $100 bill had been saved on his computer. It was later discovered that the counterfeit bills had the same serial numbers as fake money circulating in other parts of the U.S.
Prosecutor said Armagost admitted he had downloaded the image of the $100 bill from the Internet and printed 14 of the bills. He pleaded guilty Friday to passing and purchasing items, goods and services using counterfeit currency. Sentencing will begin Nov. 5.
