Helios Airways announces a text message reportedly sent by a passenger onboard the Cypriot airliner that went down over Greece was a hoax.

The passenger plane was heading to Athens from Larnaca, with a final stop in Prague, when it crashed into a mountain Sunday killing all 121 onboard.

There have been widespread reports that one of the passengers sent his cousin a text message moments before the crash, which read the pilots were unconscious and added, "Farewell, cousin. Here, we're frozen."

The Cypriot carrier Monday announces the message was a hoax and the man responsible for carrying it out has been arrested and is undergoing police questioning.
