Astronauts aboard the International Space Station are celebrating the Thanksgiving celebration feasting on freeze-dried green beans and cornbread dressing.
Completing the commemoration is turkey, albeit in more of a deli style.
But that does not dampen the spirit of the ten astronauts. They say that it is not what you eat that matters, that it is giving thanks that makes the celebration of Thanksgiving worthwhile.
The nine U.S. astronauts and one Russian cosmonaut will be celebrating Thanksgiving with an early meal some 220 miles above.
It is very uncommon for shuttle and ISS crews to eat a meal together because of their varying schedules and duties.
On this special occasion, they will take several precautions for their Thanksgiving meal, like keeping fire extinguishers and gas masks handy in the dining area.
