A thief on horseback brandished a toy gun and robbed a man of his cell phone in the middle of this busy resort town Friday.
Brazilian police say they have arrested the teenager responsible for the theft.
The 15-year-old said he borrowed the horse from a neighbor and committed the crime because was promised $20 by local criminals for a camera with a phone.
"I've been robbed four times in this area, but this time I was totally flabbergasted seeing a boy on horseback ordering me to give up my phone. I've seen robbers on bikes or on foot, but this is crazy," the victim told Extra
Horses are not seen often on the busy streets of the city, but can be found on the outskirts or in the slums.
