Three people including one police officer are dead after a fatal shoot-out at Martinez hair salon Saturday in the San Francisco Bay area.

According to The Mercury News, the estranged husband of the salon owner, Felix Sandoval, came to the salon angry, shattered the front window of the shop and entered the unlocked door waving a gun. The salon had several customers at the time, including a wedding party. Most of the customers ran out a back door.

Sadoval was reportedly saying he was there to kill his wife, but as he kept firing his gun indiscriminately, her cousin, Catalina Torres, was shot to death instead. The wife was not shot.

The first officer to arrive on the scene was also killed. Twelve-year veteran of the police force, Sgt. Paul Starzyk died after being rushed to the hospital. He had three small children.

Martinez police and Contra Costa County sheriff's deputies finally shot and killed Sandoval at the scene.
