Thorough examinations confirmed that three newborn Sumatran tiger cubs born at the San Francisco Zoo are in good health. The cubs, all male, were given a clean bill of health, with zoo veterinarians giving praise to their mother, 230-pound Leanne, for keeping the newborns well fed.

After being chased by villagers and rescued atop a tree, a pregnant tigress was returned to the Sunderbans yesterday, a protected area along the coast of the Bay of Bengal, and one of the few remaining tiger habitats in India. Atanu Raha, West Bengal's chief conservator of forest, said although the tigress received some injuries while being tranquilized and caught, she was treated and found fit to be released in the reserve area.

The brothers who escaped with injuries after being attacked by a tiger at the San Francisco Zoo on Christmas Day will be suing the zoo authorities for a security lapse. The brothers have hired one of the top lawyers of the country to represent them in court. Paul and Kulbir Dhaliwal have appointed Mark Geragos to file a lawsuit on their behalf. Geragos is a celebrated lawyer, having represented high profile clients like Michael Jackson and Winona Ryder.

Chinese farmer Zhou Zhenglong, 52, has gone back into the wilderness to take more photos of the tiger, in an effort to refute accusations that the photo he earlier submitted was a fake. A former hunter in the Chengguan Township of Zhenping County, Zhou said that he planned to track down the tiger and bring back more photographs. He has been searching for tiger tracks for the past three days.
