A young woman is recovering from surgery after being mauled by a tiger at Dublin Zoo. The woman scaled several safety barriers on Tuesday afternoon in an attempt to reach three Siberian tigers in their compound. "She pushed her hand through and the tiger reacted as any tiger would and bit her," a zoo spokeswoman said. After receiving first aid, the woman was rushed to hospital by ambulance and underwent emergency surgery on her arm.

A student at Louisiana State University (LSU) has been fined for streaking nude across the field during a football game. Bretton Somers, 33, plead guilty to misdemeanor counts of disturbing the peace, resisting an officer and criminal trespass at Tiger Stadium, and was fined $1,624. 75.

Officials say fear spread among people living near the coast of Sri Lanka's captial as the sound of fighter jets was mistaken for an explosion. Police initially said there had been an explosion about nine miles from Colombo, and that it had been caused by a sea mine planted by Tamil Tiger rebels.

Bulgarian citizens enjoying a nice stroll in a park were shocked to see an escaped tiger wandering along with them. Causing a widespread panic, the wandering tiger had somehow managed to break out of its cage at the zoo in Varna on the Black Sea coast.

Pedestrians in a famed Bulgarian park ran in panic after hearing an escaped tiger broke out of its cage and was prowling on the grounds. The zoo located in Varna on the Black Sea coast issued a warning to people still in the mark and incited the help of local police. The massive "manhunt" style operation was launched and luckily the animal was eventually corralled and taken back to the zoo.
