The latest dish to tempt consumers is a green and red-striped tomato created in response to increased demand for novelty produce. Creator, Marks & Spencer, says the tiger tomato is a cherry-sized fruit with magenta-colored skin and tastes slightly sweeter than standard varieties.

It may seem obvious, but Australian researchers say that tiger dung makes a potent repellant. The team at the University of Queensland said on Friday that tiger poo successfully warded off wild goats for at least three days, reports Reuters.

A suspected criminal in South Africa was mauled to death after he hid from authorities in a tiger's cage. South African police say the man had just robbed a couple with a knife. He tried to escape by jumping over the Bloemfontein Zoo fence and taking refuge in the Bengal tiger's cage, reports BBC

A 78-year-old woman is arrested after lacing a can of cat food with rat poison to ensure her neighbor's cats stayed away from her backyard. Myrtle Maly has been charged with two felony counts of animal mistreatment after admitting to officers to placing D-Con rodent killer in a can of "Special Kitty Salmon Dinner" cat food. The woman set the trap for her neighbor's cats, Tangerine and Tiger, after the two snuck into her backyard and attacked some birds.

According to a report in The Orlando Sentinel, a woman known locally as "the butter lady" publically announced her plans to create a sculpture of Tiger Woods. Norma Lyon is a 75-year-old butter sculptor who lives on a dairy farm in near Toledo. She carves a full-size dairy cow out of butter at the Iowa State Fair each year - a local highlight for nearly five decades.
