Kim Mayorga was freaked out when she discovered her two-year-old son was served a margarita instead of the apple juice she ordered at an area restaurant. The incident happened Monday, when Kim was dining with her three children and father at an Applebee's restaurant and she noticed her toddler son making funny faces and pushing away his favorite drink - apple juice.
It took no time for Kim to understand the cause of her son's strange behavior. When she opened the lid of the sippy cup she knew right away what had happened.
An investigation into the matter revealed that the restaurant stores apple juice and pre-made margarita in almost identically looking bottles and the manager at the eatery mistakenly had poured the tequila-based drink in the child's sippy cup thinking it to be the apple juice.
Although the Applebee's management have decided to change the containers that carry the alcoholic drink and apple juice, Kim is sure that she is not a customer of the eatery any more.
"I wasn't going to make a big deal about it," Kim told the Contra Costa Times on Thursday, "but then he got sick."
"If they think I'm going back there, they're ridiculous," she said.
