A 2-year-old boy miraculously survived a perilous ride in his mother's pick up truck that rolled down through several embankments, trees and structures before coming to a halt against a chain link fence. It wasn't clear why the pickup started rolling.

The incident happened Sunday morning when the boy's mom was loading a mattress into the pickup's bed while the toddler sat alone in the cab, Yavapai County Sheriff's spokeswoman Susan Quayle told the Miami Herald.

Somehow, the truck started rolling backwards, crossing the road, taking out a natural gas line and running over embankment after embankment before stopping at a chain link fence.

It comes just a week after a Georgia toddler severely skinned her face, arms, and legs after she fall off from the top of her dad's pick up truck but not before she traveled five miles at speeds approaching 45 miles per hour.
