With its toilet-shaped seats and napkins dispensed from toilet rolls, a restaurant is attracting throngs of customers in the upbeat city of Taipei in Taiwan.

The innovation, according to Modern Toilet owner, Wang Tzi-wei, is quite a hit among young and adventurous diners.

Modern Toilet, a chain of 12 restaurants, serves food in toilet or wash-basin shaped, with much of the food made to look like human feces.

Wang Tzi-wei said he opened the first branch of Modern Toilet in 2004, getting the idea after watching a Japanese cartoon which focused on restroom images and the toilet concepts on restaurant menus.

Wang added that the restaurant attracts people within the age bracket of 15 to 35, mainly because they're "easily excited." He however lamented that older people just won't get the feel of it.

"Every detail tells you it's a bathroom, not a restaurant. But it's fun to eat here," a diner told China Photo Base.
