According to results from an online poll, more tourists are turning their noses up at touring famous sites. In a poll of more than 1,200 adults, on which tourist sites were most disappointing to see, England's Stonehenge garnered the most votes for being the biggest dud - along with being the biggest pile of rubble - on the list of famous tourist sites.
Viewed as a "disappointing" pile of big stones in a muddy field next to a busy highway tourists said it was not "enlightening" or "spiritual" and voted it the number one tourist site to avoid seeing.
The Virgin Tourist poll also found that travelers who had seen the American Statue of Liberty overwhelmingly voted it an "uninspiring" site.
Amazingly, the storied Eiffel Tower once said to be a romantic attraction was labeled "super tacky."
