An amusement park nightmare occurred on Sunday, when the rear car of an amusement park roller coaster became disengaged from the rest of the train and tipped over. The incident at Valleyfair amusement park injured 18 people. According to the Associated Press, Valleyfair spokesman Bill Von Bank said it was not immediately clear what caused the car to detach, however riders say it happened after the one in front of it experienced a problem entering into the station resulting in the last car tipping over on its side at the platform.

China is planning to launch luxury trains riding the so-called roof of the world when the long anticipated and highly controversial railway to Tibet opens in July. Yahoo News says the five-star trains will have showers, on board folk dance shows and karaoke.

A woman left her friend as "security" at a gas station after running out of money, but failed to come back for her friend or pay for the gas. The 20-year-old told an attendant in Muenchberg, Bavaria that she would rush to the nearest ATM and leave her friend Maria Hundstorfer, as collateral for her promise to pay.

A German man who unsuccessfully tried to kill himself by jumping in front of a train must pay for the damage he caused. The decision was announced by a Munich court yesterday. The Scotsman newspaper says that the 47-year-old leapt too late to land under the train and crashed through the driver's cabin window.
