Power Outage Leaves Amusement Park Goers Dangling

Visitors to an amusement park in Arkansas were left stunned this weekend after a roller coaster train carrying 12 riders came to a halt at the highest point of the loop due to a power outage. According to onlookers, the X-Coaster passengers were stranded upside down for nearly 30 minutes before they were rescued by firefighters. According to park officials, the power outage might have been caused by a tree limb or an animal that might have got stuck in the system.

Missing Man Found Dead In Train's Toilet

The search for a missing man ended Thursday afternoon after he was found dead in the toilet of the train he boarded a day earlier. Edy Haryanto, 55, reportedly boarded the round trip train for Jakarta from the central Javanese town of Tegal, but family members waiting at the destination were shocked to find him missing. According to a local newspaper Detikcom, Edy went missing when the train arrived at Gambir, a station on the way to Jakarta.

France's TGV Zooms By AT More Than 350 Miles Per Hour

A French train broke the world speed record Tuesday for conventional rail trains when it roared along at more than 350 mph, just a few points behind the Japanese magnetically levitated train. France's TGV, with a 25,000-horsepower engine and special wheels, reached 357. 2 mph as against Japan's 361. The black and chrome V150 with three double-decker cars surpassed the record of 320. 2 mph (515. 3 kph) set in 1990 by another French train. Engineers attributed the two supercharged locomotives and extra-large wheels for the speed.

When the world's tallest man, Sun Ming from China, officially joined the American Basketball Association, he was given an XXXXXXL sweat shirt to wear, and it still didn't fit him. ABA is touting 23-year-old Ming as the tallest player in the history of professional basketball, with a height of 7 foot 8 and 3/4 inches (236 cm). Ming wears size 19 shoes and weighs at least 335 pounds. As a new entrant to Maryland Nighthawks, he wore a uniform with the number 79 - symbolic of his giant height.
