Steven S. Cole's acceptance of this plea deal Thursday dropped a charge of public indecency against him. However, the former volunteer firefighter has now been sentenced to attend a mandatory driver intervention program and been placed on two years' probation.

Gary Alan Hemsted, a truck driver, has now been sentenced to 10 years in prison for shooting his wife, Lisa, in 2005. A 2-year-old boy miraculously survived a perilous ride in his mother's pick up truck that rolled down through several embankments, trees and structures before coming to a halt against a chain link fence. The man was pushed at 50 mph for at least 4 miles before the motorists deluged the police's emergency service with calls. According to officials, the man was rolling by the front of the truck at a gas station when the handles of his wheelchair got stuck in the grille of the truck.
