Two people drowned following a boating accident on Lake Lanier on Saturday night. The bodies were recovered on Sunday morning from a depth of 10 feet, near the boat docks of Port Royale in the Forsyth County.

Lung Mang, 21 and Tha Thang, 23 went missing on Sunday after their boat wrecked on the lake.

The boat was carrying a total of nine people and was near the Port Royale boat docks when it got caught up in a heavy storm and rain.

The heavy rain led to the boat colliding with some objects in the water because the lake level is low and tree stumps and sandbars are near the surface of the water.

The other seven passengers were able to reach the shores.

Investigation revealed that none of the passengers on board was wearing a life jacket.

The two young men who died had jumped into the water to push their pontoon boat off a sandbar.

In two separate incidents on Friday two other people were drowned.

Aeriel Cotuc Chaudjay of Duluth drowned off Lanier Beach South. The Guatemala immigrant did not know how to swim and by mistake waded into deep water.

Hall County authorities reported the drowning of a 14 year old boy from East Meadow, NY. He was fishing and swimming in the lake and like Chaudjay fell off a steep drop off from the shallows into deep water.

Lake Lanier, a popular lake north of Atlanta has seen 8 drownings in 2007 and seven in 2006.
