Two young drivers were arrested over the weekend for speeding past police officers at 141 mph on I-5 in Snohomish County, Washington.

The Washington State Patrol says that the trooper who arrested two men thought he was hearing an airplane early Sunday as the cars zoomed by him, heading north on the interstate highway.

The first driver, a 22-year-old young man, drove a 2005 BMW 330i, while the second driver, an 18-year-old young man was driving a 2007 Honda Accord.

The trooper managed to follow and stop the two speeding cars only when they had stopped for a passenger from one of the cars to get into the other.

The two drivers were booked at the Snohomish County Jail on charges of reckless driving.
