Two would-be burglars, who picked the Antioch Police Department K-9 team's training session building for robbery, are now behind the bars.
In an attempt to steal copper wiring from the same building, 26-year-old James Ayers of Bethel Island and 38-year-old Frederick Guilliee of Antioch, California entered the 40,000-square-foot building at about 6 p.m. Tuesday, police said.
The building, which once housed a cardboard-processing plant, had an officer hiding inside the building at the time the two men broke in. According to the Associated Press reports, a K-9 officer then called out that a dog was about to be released and that anyone inside should surrender or risk getting bitten.
Both men were arrested on suspicion of commercial burglary after they surrendered.
