Police arrested two eighth-graders on felony charges after they allegedly attempted to poison their science teacher by adding a fabric freshener into her soda.
According to Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, the boy and girl allegedly added the harmful ingredient in 51-year-old Jacqueline Hutchins's drink but she did not suffer any harm. She immediately noticed a different taste when she sipped her Pepsi on Friday.
According to police reports, the matter came into light when other students told deputies that the two students were overheard talking to each other about putting the Febreeze fabric freshener in her soda.
AP reports that the students, both 15, were charged with poisoning, a first-degree felony and were taken to a juvenile detention center.
