Two elderly women who are the only living souls in the remote Serbian village of Grade have become famous for not speaking to each other and insulting one another in a local newspaper.
In a report by ananova.com, the two women were identified as Ruzica Markovic and Ljubica Paunovic, both from the Grade, the smallest village in Serbia. It was said the two women had a falling out three years ago when one of them insulted the other's cow.
According to the report, Markovic and Paunovic used to be friends and lived in harmony in the Grade, a village with no electricity, running water, TV or access to radio.
Paunovic stopped talking to Markovic, however, after she overheard her making a rude comment about one of her cows.
Paunovic has involved local newspapers in their spat and the pair now have become cult figures in the press, trading daily insults.
Markovic said, "I am having the newspapers specially delivered to me every day just so I can find out what she's been saying about me."
