One control tower operator thought it was amusing when a United Airlines supervisors called to ask if they saw a spinning saucer shoot into the clouds last fall.

Reports of the UFO citing are just now being released. Several United employees, including a pilot, said they saw a saucer-shaped object hover over O'Hare Airport and then disappear into the clouds. Control tower employees said they saw nothing.

Controller Craig Burzych said, "To fly 7 million light years to O'Hare and then have to turn around and go home because your gate was occupied is simply unacceptable."

Federal Aviation Administration Spokeswoman Elizabeth Isham Cory offered that the employees probably witnessed some sort of weather phenomenon.

She said, "Our theory on this is that it was a weather phenomenon. That night was a perfect atmospheric condition in terms of low (cloud) ceiling and a lot of airport lights. When the lights shine up into the clouds, sometimes you can see funny things."
