An American Alligator was discovered in the Chicago River Friday. According to local reports, the alligator is estimated to be five-years-old and is 5 1/2 to 6 feet long. Volunteers with the Chicago Herpetological Society trapped the animal, and plan to send the female reptile back to a sanctuary in the Southeast United States.

Thousands of marijuana activists from key Canadian cities puffed joints in public on Saturday as part of the Global Marijuana March - a worldwide protest on cannabis prohibition. Montreal, Ottawa, Vancouver and Winnipeg held similar protests which took place simultaneously in 239 major cities across the globe, according to a Cannabis News' website.

A 101-year old man from Phoenix, Arizona realized a lifelong dream Saturday when he was awarded legal American citizenship. The first centenarian to become an American citizenship in the state, Vicente Osorio Rios achieved his legal citizen status at a local court, in a ceremony witnessed by family members that altogether spanned three generations.
