America's finest eaters assemble at Artie's Deli in New York to participate in a 10-pound roast turkey eating contest sponsored by the gambling site GoldenPalace.com.
The winner of the gorge-fest is Sonya "The Black Widow" Thomas, of Alexandria, Va.
Thomas not only wins the title but the prize money of $2,500.
The 100-pound winner ate 4 pounds, 3.1 ounces in 12 minutes.
Her goal, she says, in an Associated Press report, is to be the top competitive eater in the world. She says she took the "Black Widow" nickname because in the eating contests she likes to "eliminate the males."
