A plumber from Soap Lake, Wash., area has erected an unusual fence that neighbors say is an act out of dispute with them but the fence owner insists is a piece of art. Rick Froebe has lined his backyard with seven old toilets, a few used bathtubs and some broken-down water heaters.

Froebe, a former member at the Lakeview Golf and Country Club, says his fence is nothing else than "plumber art." But critics say Froebe is acting out in a dispute with the golf course and other neighbors.

Froebe, co-owner of Coulee Dam/Ephrata Plumbing, resigned from the club in May following a dispute with other members.

The residents complain that the toilet-fence is an 'eyesore', and have called in the Grant County sheriff's office to solve the dispute.

But Froebe argues that there's nothing wrong with his toilet fence. "It's not like this is Pebble Beach. This is Lakeview," he tells Columbia Basin Herald.

"If they would've come to me first that would have been one thing," Froebe said. "But they went directly to the sheriff."
